Author Blackaby to speak at market Prayer Breakfast

Registration deadline is March 11

HIGH POINT — The 13th annual Furniture Fellowship Prayer Breakfast will take place from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, during the spring High Point Market.

Author and pastor Richard Blackaby will speak at the event, which will be in the International Home Furnishings Center ballroom. Praise Foundation will lead the worship and music.

“On behalf of the Furniture Fellowship Board, we are delighted that Dr. Richard Blackaby has accepted our invitation to be keynote speaker,” said Larry Smith, chairman of the fellowship board and senior vice president of corporate sales and marketing for Berkline/BenchCraft.

Blackaby is president of Blackaby Ministries International. He was senior pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba and then was president of the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane, Alberta, for 13 years.

He has co-authored several books with his father, Henry T. Blackaby, including “When God Speaks,” “Experiencing God: Collegiate Edition,” “Hearing God’s Voice” and “Called to Be God’s Leader: Lessons from the Life of Joshua.” He was managing editor and contributing author of “The Blackaby Study Bible” and authored “Putting a Face on Grace: Living a Life Worth Passing On.”

Admission to the event is $18, which includes breakfast. Tables for five or 10 can be reserved.

To become a sponsor, contributions can be made in the amounts $100, $250, $500 or more, in addition to the admission cost. All sponsors will receive recognition in the event’s program. Contributions will help cover costs of the breakfast, and excess proceeds will be given to Habitat for Humanity.
