Albion Associates

High Point — Emily Meindl has joined photography, digital imaging and printing company Albion Associates as an account executive. She reports to Miles Barefoot, president.

Meindl previously held sales positions with Tribuzio-Hilliard and the Alderman Co. She will service local and national accounts.

BB&T Commercial Finance

Atlanta — BB&T Commercial Finance has named David Ellis as national factoring sales manager. He reports to Ray Rogers, commercial finance sales manager.

Ellis, a senior vice president, joined BB&T in March 2005 as a commercial finance specialist, responsible for business development in Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. He has worked in commercial banking for 25 years.

BB&T Commercial Finance offers asset-based lending, factoring, supply-chain finance and payables management, among other credit-based products and services. Factoring combines working capital financing, credit risk protection, accounts receivable bookkeeping and collection services.

Nirvana Swing Co.

Bradenton, Fla. — Recliner producer Nirvana Swing Co. has appointed S.D.G. & Associates as its national sales representative team.

Steve Gordon is president of S.D.G., which has 21 sales reps covering 44 states.

The national team is composed of Gordon, Craig Basner, Joel Feldmesser, Stephen Frank, Randy Gould, Gene andLynda Hollander, Herb Isaacs, Patty Jeffers, Harris Kirsch, Bob andWestley Loeb, Jim McCudden, The Parker Group, Dennis Quimby, Jerry Ramler, Jesse Samples, Jerry Sherrod and Mary Stine.

AWFS

City of Commerce, Calif. — The Assn. of Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers installed its 2007-08 board of directors at its first board meeting of the year in Washington, D.C.

Robert Slater of Stiles Machinery, who is a member of the AWFS Trade Show Committee, is in his first term on the board. Kevin Bedell of Foamex and Tom Elliott of Costa & Grissom Machinery were re-elected to a second three-year term.

Officers who continue for their second year of a two-year term are Skip Hem, Royal Plywood Co., president; Joan Kemp, CP Adhesives, vice president/president-elect; Jeff Oliverson, Koch Ltd. Machinery Systems, secretary/treasurer; and Barry Howerton, Leggett & Platt, immediate past president.

Designers

Designs of the Interior

Jacksonville, Fla. — Aleighen Bunkers was the top performing design consultant in 2006 for retailer Designs of the Interior. The national franchise consists of 21 locations, with several more opening soon.

Bunkers has more than five years of interior design experience.

"Aleighen is a very talented and creative designer," said Kim Dodson-Prescott, owner of the Jacksonville franchise of DOTI. "Her success comes from her ability to listen to her customers' needs and then bring their design vision to life."

Flakeboard

Markham, Ontario — Wendy Spring, design manager for particleboard and fiberboard panel manufacturer Flakeboard, has retired after 19 years of service.

Spring joined the company in 1988 as office manager and played a pivotal role in developing the customer service department. As Flakeboard's position in the decorative panel business progressed, she headed the company's marketing efforts, establishing and managing Flakeboard's line of melamine, paper overlay and print designs.

In 2002, Spring became design manager and brought variety and innovation to Flakeboard's collection of composite panel finishes.
