HIGH POINT — The High Point Market Authority will again offer limited shuttle services to market attendees the weekend prior to the official March 26 opening.
Market organizers said the free shuttles are aimed at exhibitors and other involved in sales meetings and last-minute showroom set-up.
“The weekend before the opening day of market is a busy one for exhibitors and sales reps,” said Market Authority President Brian Casey. “By offering shuttles from the airports and other basic transportation services Saturday and Sunday, we are seeking to meet the needs of these important market constituents and simplifying the market experience for everyone.”
The weekend service includes shuttles between downtown High Point and airports in Greensboro, Raleigh and Charlotte; shuttles between downtown and the south Park and Ride lot on Market Center Drive; and limited service to area hotels and private homes.
Shuttles between downtown High Point and the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro will run every 30 minutes between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Shuttles from airports in Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., also are available, but reservations must be made by calling (336) 869-1000.
The south Park and Ride lot will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
On opening day, March 26, the market’s full transportation system will begin. It includes shuttles to two Park and Ride lots, service to approximately110 area hotels and motels, and “go-anywhere” shuttles that will take attendees anywhere within a three-mile radius of the High Point city limits.
