Broyhill opens first Hawaii gallery in Wo-owned store

Honolulu — Broyhill Furniture has opened its first Hawaiian Broyhill Home Furnishings Gallery on the island of Oahu here in a store owned by C.S. Wo & Sons.
The 5,000-square-foot gallery is in the 20,000-square-foot Room Stores, a division of C.S. Wo.
Founded in 1909, C.S. Wo & Sons is a third-generation family retailer with 14 stores on the islands of Oahu, Maui and Hawaii. President Robert "Bub" Wo Jr. and his brother, Vice President Wendell Wo, are two of five brothers who operate the Top 100 chain.
Sharon Stroupe, Broyhill's director of galleries for the Western and Canadian divisions, attended the gallery's grand opening earlier this year.
"We started exploring the possibility of adding a Broyhill Gallery to our Room Stores location in April of 2006," said Mark Zwolfer, division manager of DeZign Home & Room Stores. "Last July, at the Vegas market, we met with Broyhill again and put the plan together."
Broyhill, based in Lenoir, N.C., makes and imports a complete line of furniture for the home. It is part of Furniture Brands International.
