Woolrich, Pa. — Roswell Brayton Jr., president and CEO of venerable outdoor lifestyle brand Woolrich, has died. He was 55.
Brayton collapsed last week at Woolrich headquarters here. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be revived.
A sixth-generation member of the founding Rich family, Brayton joined the company in 1978. He became president in 1996 and assumed the role of CEO in 1997.
Survivors include his wife and seven children, including his son Nick Brayton, who works for the company as an international licensing specialist.
Lexington Home Brands markets furniture produced under the Woolrich brand, which is used in a range of industries around the world.
Memorials may be made to the Brayton Family Scholarship Fund, Lycoming College, 700 College Place, Williamsport, Pa. 17701; or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905.
