Moran leaves B&B Italia

New York — Industry veteran Valerie Moran has stepped down as chairman of B&B Italia USA here after five months.
She has not been replaced, but Daniela Coletta, former director of sales, was to be promoted to managing director of the high-end Italian furniture producer, according to an e-mail from Moran to her friends and associates.
Neither Moran nor Coletta returned telephone calls last week.
Moran said in her e-mail that during her tenure, B&B Italia developed a three-year business plan and media plans, improved staffing, established new back office and sales teams and opened a New York store in Manhattan's SoHo area.
Previously a long-time employee and CEO of high-end French furniture maker Grange, she also noted that Dennis Walker, a certified public accountant, joined B&B Italia in January as director of finance. Moran said Walker "and his team will provide the platform of accurate and consistent back office support necessary to enable Daniela and her team to build sales and distribution."
"The team has my full support, and I wish all of its members the very best," Moran said.
