American Leather
Dallas — Custom upholstery specialist American Leather has honored Mitch Zerg & Associates as the leading sales representatives in 2006 for its hospitality division.
Mitch Zerg and Shauna Mauro of the rep company cover California and Nevada for American Leather.
"Mitch Zerg & Associates has been with the hospitality division since its onset and has been instrumental in helping build the American Leather brand in this specialist marketplace," said Frank Boardman, national sales manager for American Leather's hospitality division.
DG Associates
Rockford, Ill. — Sales promotion and consulting firm DG Associates has hired Eli Mizrachi as West Coast regional manager. He reports to David Geddeis Jr., vice president and chief operating officer.
Mizrachi has owned and operated successful businesses in home furnishings retailing, including Cima's Furniture in Las Vegas. He has been in furniture sales management and business consulting on the West Coast and elsewhere for almost 20 years.
Standard Furniture
Bay Minette, Ala. — Standard Furniture has promoted two employees in its marketing department, and has hired two others.
William Behrends has been promoted to corporate marketing director after five years as creative director.
In addition to overseeing the marketing department, he will develop and manage all marketing, advertising and sales promotions. He reports to Todd Evans, vice president of sales and marketing.
Sherri Green has been promoted to brand manager, after more than two years as assistant brand manager. She will be responsible for brand management and furniture market logistics.
Before joining Standard, Green owned a Web design company, and was an IT administrator and Webmaster for a church.
Katy Hunt has joined Standard as public relations coordinator.
Previously, she held a similar position for a nonprofit environmental organization.
Trish Plovanich has joined the company as sample movement coordinator, with responsibility for transportation of sample furniture to and from furniture shows.
She also will assist in the management of Standard's brands and their representation at markets. She previously worked as a trade show manager.
Green, Hunt and Plovanich report to Behrends.
Consultants
Clear Thinking Group
Hillsborough, N.J. — Consulting firm Clear Thinking Group has promoted Maxine Turner to manager in the Turnaround and Crisis Management Practice Group. She has been a consultant since December 2005.
The company also has promoted Denise Engelhardt and Joe Marchese to senior consultants in its Creditors Rights Practice Group and Turnaround and Crisis Management Practice Group, respectively.
Engelhardt joined Clear Thinking Group as a consultant in April 2005, and Marchese joined in October 2005.

Triad Business Journal
High Point — Tammy Covington Nagem, vice president of operations for the High Point Market Authority, has been named to the annual 40 Leaders Under Forty list by the Triad Business Journal.
The recognition goes to young leaders who are making their mark and are considered to be the future of the region, which includes High Point and nearby Greensboro and Winston-Salem, N.C.
Nagem, 33, joined the High Point Market Authority in 2002.
As vice president of operations, she is responsible for transportation service, parking, central registration and visitor amenities.
"Tammy has been a force behind many of the positive operational changes we've seen in recent markets, such as the vast improvements with transportation," said Market Authority President and CEO Brian Casey.
