Kenneth Bauer, president of Bauer International, dies at 49

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. - Kenneth Gerard Bauer, president of furniture manufacturer Bauer International, died here on Nov. 11. He was 49.
Bauer founded Bauer International in 1992. The company is best known as the official furniture provider for PGA of America since 2003. Bauer International was named the Small Business of the Year in 2000 by the Charleston Regional Business Journal was on The Roaring 20s list of companies for five years in a row.
Bauer was deeply committed to philanthropy and active in the Charleston, S.C., community. He was on the board of trustees of the South Carolina Aquarium, helped found the Maritime Heritage Foundation, and was instrumental in the effort behind the Spirit of South Carolina.
Bauer is survived by his wife, three children, his parents and a nephew.
