HIGH POINT — Case goods resource Global Home Group has named Steve Tarpey key account manager, a new position.
Tarpey has 15 years of industry experience including sales management roles. He was most recently at Ashley Furniture Inds. and previously worked with Berkline Family Dining and Vendor Development Group.
He reports to John Routh, director of sales for North America.
"Steve's in-depth knowledge of the U.S. market, along with his industry experience, will serve Global Home well as we launch our U.S. initiatives," Routh said. "He is very detail oriented and a team player who will execute his role with integrity and focus - key ingredients that will play a critical role in our success."
Global Home Group is a Czech-based case goods importer that primarily sells to Europe, Australia and New Zealand. As part of its strategy to penetrate the U.S. market, it is showing here for the first time in a 6,200-square-foot showroom in space 160 of Center Point on Manning.
The Wessex collection by Global Home Group is made with solid oak and is shown here in a clear finish.
Its lineup includes lower-middle to upper-middle priced dining room, bedroom and occasional. Groups are made in Vietnam with oak, mountain ash and acacia veneers as well as poplar and oak solids. The product is available on full and mixed containers from a 215,000-square-foot bonded warehouse, also in Vietnam.
Tarpey said he looks forward to helping Global Home expand into the U.S. market.
"I am thrilled to join the Global Home team at the launching of the U.S. product line," he said. "The Global Home Group has experienced tremendous success in the U.K. and Australia recently and is now poised to build on that success in the U.S. market."
