Vanguard promotes Dixon to president
Rasmussen becomes vice chairman

AT THE MARKET — High-end upholstery producer and case good importer Vanguard Furniture has named Mitchell Dixon, for six years vice president of merchandising, as the company’s president.
“Dixon has played an integral part in the growth and success of Vanguard in directing the merchandising and creative areas of our business,” said John Bray, chairman and CEO. “He will continue to direct these areas as we make plans for growing all aspects of our business. We look forward to benefiting from his continued contributions as we position ourselves for an exciting future.”
Birger Rasmussen, who previously held the title of president, will continue in his current duties and assume the title of vice chairman.
Before joining Vanguard, Dixon was at Baker Furniture as national sales manager for Baker and its Milling Road Collection, and as director of upholstery merchandising. He also held merchandising roles with Drexel Heritage and Lineage Home Furnishings.
