High Point — Cornerstone Health Care providers again are providing free minor medical care to attendees at this week's market here, in cooperation with the High Point Regional Health System and the High Point Market Authority.
Dr. James C. Anderson, vice president of Cornerstone Health Care, who is the founder and manager of the market project, said care will be provided from the High Point Hospital's HOPE Unit, which is parked on Wrenn Street behind the Radisson Hotel.
Cornerstone providers will man the 44-foot-long, bus-like healthcare facility from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday, March 26, through Sunday, April 1.
The minor medical care program was introduced in October 2003, and the number of patients treated has increased each market.
"By providing free minor medical care to our out-of-town visitors, Cornerstone Health Care and High Point Regional Health System help those who may become ill away from home get back to business quickly," said Brian Casey, president of the Market Authority. "I don't know of any other trade show in the industry that provides this level of service to their participants."
Medical care providers are prepared to treat headache, cough, earache, vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, sinusitis, stomach ache, conjunctivitis, bladder infection, allergy symptoms and other minor conditions.
