La-Z-Boy's Luxury Lift chair features innovative lift unit
By Joan Gunin -- Furniture Today, March 25, 2007
At The Market — La-Z-Boy is introducing this market the Luxury Lift chair, using patent-pending technology that allows recliners to lift up more smoothly without the base of the chair leaving the floor.
The latest power-lift entry, which includes heat and massage, is designed to provide ease to those with limited mobility. The chair back articulates, putting the user into an appropriate posture from which to stand.
The new "box within a box" design means the recliner's working parts are neither seen nor reachable when the chair is in the lift position. From the outside, the new lift recliner looks the same as a traditional recliner.
"The Luxury Lift chair brings assistance and independence in a stylish, inconspicuous fashion," said Jennifer Sievertsen, vice president of brand marketing for La-Z-Boy. "We are proud to be the first to recognize the need for a smoother, more stylish and discreet lift chair for those requiring extra assistance."
The Luxury Lift chair, with side pocket storage, is offered in three design styles:
-
Windham (No. 320), petite in scale, features a firm seat and padded arms with a traditional button-patterned back.
-
Trevorton (No. 508), the largest of the three, offers a roomier frame with a wider back and a higher seat.
-
The mid-size Lancer (No. 515) sports clean lines and generously padded arms.
A hand wand controls heat in the Luxury Lift's back and seat to soothe muscles and provide warmth. A six-motor massage option is available as an upgrade.
Other features include battery backup to ensure the chair will return to the seated position even if the power fails.
