New agency Berline's aim: keep Art Van dominant

Bloomfield Hills, Mich. — Art Van Furniture has hired Berline as its ad agency.
Agency Chairman Jim Berline called it a "proud time" and said his team "looks forward to developing aggressive strategic, creative, advertising, media buying and marketing campaigns that will be designed to secure Art Van's dominance in this highly competitive market and enhance its long-term growth."
The 29-store, Warren, Mich.-based Art Van is a Top 100 company and the largest furniture store in the state.
Berline, founded in 1982, said it has annual advertising and public relations billings of more than $80 million.
