Furniture/Today launches industry search engine
Kellysearch links buyers, sellers globally

Greensboro, N.C. — Furniture/Today has introduced Supplier Search, an industry-specific search engine, on its Web site at www.furnituretoday.com.
Because it's a vertical Web search within the home furnishings industry, it gives results that are specific to the industry rather then general, like a Google search. This allows the user to quickly zero in on desired information.
Ray Allegrezza, the publication's editor-in-chief, said Supplier Search is a cooperative effort between Furniture/Today and Kellysearch, a global search engine owned by the newspaper's parent company, Reed Business Information.
Brian Gallagher, president of Kellysearch, the largest business-to-business search engine in the United States, said the initiative is an exciting addition to Furniture/Today's offering to retailers, vendors and sales representatives.
"What Kellysearch excels at is putting buyers, be they domestic or global, in touch with sellers," Gallagher said. "In addition, there is also a global offering for those with overseas markets."
Chris Schultz, senior Web editor at Furniture/Today, said Supplier Search is "a vertical search engine that has industry-specific categories. It's another of the services we're making available to our online customers."
To use the search function, click on the Furniture/Today Supplier Search logo near the top of the www.furnituretoday.com home page.
Gallagher said the database will be augmented constantly as the company crawls the Web to update information. Companies also can update their own information.
A number of advertising packages are available to suit various needs and budgets, he said. The Supplier Search site will be transparent, with traffic statistics freely available on the site.
"It is always gratifying when two leading brands such as Furniture/Today and Kellysearch can work together on projects such as this one and, in the process, facilitate ways for Furniture/Today's readers to be more productive and more profitable," said Gallagher.
Kellysearch entered the U.S. market for online directories in 2004. It is an online version of Kelly's Directories, a brand name established in 1799. More information about the company is available on the Web site www.kellysearch.com, on its "About Us" page.
"We have access to and partnerships with every corner of the Reed Business empire, and we maximize those opportunities daily as we attract millions of users to Kellysearch and make millions of data entries available to those visitors," said Gallagher.
