High Point hits

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 8, 2007

This postman's sorting cabinet, part of the Felix Monge collection, was a standout. The 19th century reproduction piece features a black-and-red lacquer finish accentuated by wood and ivory interiors. It is priced at $6,000 retail.

Century

A lustrous silk jacquard from Texture Inc. covers this dramatic settee, which also features walnut veneer with an intricate marquetry pattern on the back. Retail as shown is about $4,950.

Michael Thomas

The dramatic sweep of this unusual wing

chair is highlighted by a taupe silk called Dean from Peachtree Fabrics. Retail for the chair and ottoman is $3,495.

Lane Home Furnishings

Lane had a hit this market with its Italia bedroom suite. The Dolce poster bed, retailing for $999, was inspired by an 18th century Italian design. Pieces feature walnut with decorative inlays, stylized frescoes and stone details.
