Lenoir, N.C. — Broyhill Furniture Inds. will share a new West Coast distribution center in Rialto, Calif., with Thomasville Furniture, a fellow subsidiary of Furniture Brands International.
Furniture Brands said in November that it would use the facility.
The center more than doubles the size of Broyhill's previous West Coast facility and will provide improved service to furniture retailers in the western U.S. states and Canadian provinces, according to a company press release.
The Rialto facility has 700,000 square feet, 400,000 of which will be used by Broyhill. That's twice the space in the current facility in Riverside, Calif.
Broyhill said the new facility will pass along a number of advantages to its Western dealers, including increased product assortment, shorter delivery times, transportation savings, and better logistical services.
The company hopes the new facility also will benefit the rest of the United States and Canada by reducing demand on its East Coast distribution facilities, giving dealers improved service and turnaround times.
