McCollum leaves Broyhill post
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 8, 2007
Lenoir, N.C. — Michael McCollum, a senior vice president of case goods merchandising at Broyhill Furniture Inds., has left the company.
President Jeff Cook did not reveal specifics about the departure other than to say that McCollum's last day with the company was March 22.
McCollum had been with Broyhill since September 2005. Before that, he was vice president and general manager of the Signature Division of SLF.
The position is key to the design, sourcing and development of bedroom, formal and casual dining room and youth bedroom furniture.
Cook said the company has begun interviewing replacement candidates. Depending on the success of those interviews, he said the position could be filled in as little as 30 days.
"It starts with having a dynamic and creative leader because of the history and importance wood has for the company and for its customers," Cook said. "With the importance the Broyhill name has in the marketplace, it will be easy to attract the highest caliber person in the marketplace."
