Multimaster offers label program

Greensboro, N.C. — Multimaster North America says its new labeling program, called Swatch Master, promises to save significant time and money for upholstery and bedding manufacturers.
According to Joel Beckom, Multimaster's manager of technical services, the program will allow manufacturers to control costs for required law labels and swatch labels, and "nearly eliminate" the setup and printing lead time.
"Instead of using outside services to print and apply required law labels and swatch labels for fabric and leather, manufacturers can create and print them in-house, on the fly, and save a lot of time and money," he said. "If something changes, it's as easy as changing it on the computer and reprinting the labels."
The program includes the software as well as the printer, ribbons and labels.
"Customers who order now and use the system for the July and October furniture markets can anticipate an instant return on investment," said Claude Bonvouloir, Multimaster vice president.
He also said the system allows the law labels to "be encrypted with a dedicated serial identification code that is only visible with special lighting. This allows any manufacturer to monitor imports that may be illegally tagged as his brand."
Beckom added that the ID code helps ensure to the Federal Trade Commission that the manufacturer is in compliance with proper labeling.
Multimaster North America is a supplier of furniture service and protection programs.
