Roseville, Calif. — Southern California's Linder Furniture group, including Linder's Furniture, Legacy Home Furnishings and Rooms Express, is the Western Home Furnishings Assn.'s Retailer of the Year.
Linder's President Eric Foucrier and CEO Phil Linder will be honored at a dinner May 8 during the WHFA's 2007 Conference & Tradeshow at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Palm Springs, Calif.
Award winners are selected for their contributions to the home furnishings industry, service to their community, business achievements and leadership of their company, according to the WHFA.
Founded in 1984 by business partners Linder and Foucrier, Garden Grove, Calif.-based Linder's began as a waterbed store before evolving into an oak specialty store in the early 1990s. After the recession of the mid-1990s, the company was reorganized, with the larger stores becoming the present full-line furniture stores.
Linder's acquired the Legacy stores in January, bringing the company's network of stores to 11 and its staff to more than 375. Based on 2005 sales, the Linder group ranked 90th on Furniture/Today's Top 100 with furniture, bedding and decorative accessories sales of $74 million. Sales this year are expected to exceed $80 million, the WHFA said.
"We have been through many growth modes," said Foucrier. "We have been through the good and the bad times."
Foucrier and Linder have devoted much time to industry leadership roles such as advisory boards for the High Point and Las Vegas markets.
The company also supports charitable causes, including local athletic teams and children's causes, the City of Hope, Habitat for Humanity and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. In 2006, Linder's was Southern California's Retailer of the Year for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
