Jessup, Md. — Specialty sleep products manufacturer and retailer Dormia has hired retail veteran Beth Marconi as vice president of retail operations and strategy, with responsibility for day-to-day management and expansion strategy for Dormia's 20 company-owned stores.
She was most recently at Harry and David, the $500 million retailer and direct marketer of gourmet foods and flowers, and previously was with HomeLife Furniture, a former division of Sears, as director of strategic development. Earlier in her career, she held senior management positions at Scandinavian Design and Pier 1 Imports.
"Beth's track record of significant retail operation experience with some of the nation's leading retail brands is a very exciting addition to our senior management team," said Mike Zippelli, president and CEO of Dormia. "Her experience in recruiting, developing and training in-store sales associates, merchandising and sales growth will be key to the profitable expansion of our retail stores division for the future."
Dormia distributes its specialty sleep products through its own stores and through a network of Dormia dealers.
