High Point — Chinese case goods manufacturer Lacquer Craft has promoted Phillip Siler to vice president of sales and marketing, a new post.
For the past two-and-a-half years, he was vice president of merchandising for occasional tables, accents, home office and home entertainment at Universal Furniture, which is owned by Lacquer Craft.
Siler earlier worked at Palliser and Lane, and has experience in marketing and sales.
He reports to Lacquer Craft President Mohamad Amini and will be based at the company's factory in Jia Shan, China.
"Phillip's experience in the industry and with Lacquer Craft will allow him to make a great contribution to the Lacquer Craft team," Amini said in a statement.
Siler said, "This is a great opportunity to be part of the best business model in the industry, and it's exciting personally to have this opportunity to live abroad."
Universal has appointed Jeff Stone to replace Siler as vice president of merchandising for occasional tables, accents, home office and home entertainment.
Since December, Stone has been vice president of merchandising of sister company Legacy Classic Furniture's youth and casual dining divisions. Legacy also is owned by Lacquer Craft. Stone previously held merchandising roles at Schnadig, Hooker, Broyhill and Lexington.
He reports to Universal President and CEO Randy Chrisley, who said in a statement, "As our new vice president of merchandising, Jeff brings the expertise in merchandising to develop the new products needed to ensure Universal's growth. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Universal team."
