Hendricks closing Florida facility

Conover, N.C. — Hendricks Furniture Group will close its Florida distribution center by the end of this month, consolidating the operations into its corporate headquarters and 250,000-square-foot distribution center here.
The consolidation will provide greater logistical efficiencies in inventory, fleet management, order processing and customer service, the Top 100 retailer said.
Rick Grant, president of Hendricks, said the decision to close the 100,000-square-foot center in Leigh Acres, Fla., is part of the company's "ongoing commitment to increase efficiency. ... The move allows us to control inventory levels more effectively, streamline transportation costs and eliminate departmental duplication."
The company wouldn't disclose the expected cost savings.
Hendricks plans to increase its staffing in Conover. The North Carolina operation will serve markets in North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
HFG has 33 locations, including seven Thomasville Home Furnishings stores and two Norris Furniture & Interiors stores in Florida.
