Sherrill names Paschall CEO; Adams exits
Jeff Linville -- Furniture Today, April 30, 2007
Hickory, N.C. — High-end upholstery and case goods resource Sherrill Furniture has named Jay Paschall CEO, a move designed to ease the workload of Chairman Buddy Sherrill, who relinquishes the chief executive title.
Meanwhile, industry veteran Jim Adams has stepped down as head of the company's wood divisions.
Paschall oversees all the company's divisions — Whittemore-Sherrill, CTH Sherrill Occasional, MotionCraft, Precedent, Theodore Alexander and Hickory White.
Before joining Sherrill, he was director of product development for Baker, Knapp & Tubbs, the parent of Baker Furniture and a subsidiary of Kohler Interiors Group. He managed merchandising and external designer relationships.
Prior to that, Paschall worked for Hickory Chair as director of product development and marketing, regional sales manager and director of marketing.
Adams spent four years as CEO of Sherrill's wood divisions, which are part of CTH Sherrill Occasional, Theodore Alexander and Hickory White.
"I am exploring new professional opportunities within our industry," Adams said.
"I will miss my many good friends and my association with this fine company within our industry," he continued. "I wish the people at Sherrill and Hickory White all the best."
Before joining Sherrill, Adams spent 29 years with Thomasville, resigning as senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
