Linwood, Pa. — Polyurethane foam supplier Foamex International is investing $3 million in improvements at its Tupelo, Miss., operations, including installation of automated fabrication equipment.
Foamex also said it will consolidate its fabrication and pourline facilities in Tupelo, which now are about a mile apart.
The company said the improvements will secure the expanded Tupelo facility's key role in the company's growth plans. Chairman and CEO Raymond E. Mabus said the improvements will make the Tupelo operations safer and more versatile, environmentally friendly and cost-efficient.
"This capital infusion represents the largest manufacturing investment Foamex has made in the state of Mississippi since 1994, and should be seen as a clear sign of our commitment to the furniture and bedding markets," he said.
