West Lafayette, Ind. — Manufacturer and importer Chromcraft Revington has hired Richard Garrity to the new position of senior vice president of supply chain management.
Most recently, Garrity worked at Thomasville Furniture Inds. as vice president of supply chain management. Earlier, he worked in similar supply chain executive management with retailer Staples and other companies.
Garrity, who reports to Chairman and CEO Ben Anderson-Ray, is part of Chromcraft-Revington's transformation from having autonomous divisions to a team concept focusing on synergy.
He will be responsible for worldwide supply chain management, including purchasing, domestic and international transportation logistics, warehousing and distribution, customs and regulatory compliance, inventory management and customer service.
"We believe his experience, both in our category and outside the furniture industry, will help optimize the company's global strengths and business opportunities, adding new dynamics to the strength of our executive team as we shift our focus to be more market driven and responsive to both consumers and customers," said Anderson-Ray.
Garrity has an employment agreement that will grant him 7,500 shares of restricted common stock in the company, which will vest in thirds at the end of this year, 2008 and 2009.
Under the corporate banner CR-Home, the company wholesales its products under the Chromcraft, Peters-Revington, Silver Furniture, Cochrane Furniture and Sumter brands.
