CitiFinancial, NHFA enhance credit program

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 30, 2007

The National Home Furnishings Assn. and CitiFinancial Retail Services have reached a new three-year agreement designed to enhance services for furniture retailers.

CitiFinancial, which has offered credit programs to the trade group's members, now will have staff available to assist retailers with marketing initiatives. These client managers will help dealers create and implement special credit plans.

The joint program will continue to offer rebates, bill statement messaging, credit cards with individual store logos, Web access for application processing and open-to-buy mailers.

NHFA President Wogie Badcock III of W.S. Badcock said, "We are very excited to continue our strong partnership with CitiFinancial."

Steve DeHaan, NHFA executive vice president, said, "CitiFinancial and its dedicated staff will provide NHFA retailers with all the financing tools they need to be profitable."

NHFA's membership totals over 2,750 companies with 10,000 stores in all 50 U.S. states and several other countries. CitiFinancial is a member of CitiGroup, a $690 billion company and America's largest financial institution.
