Premarket dates revised

High Point — Dates of High Point's premarket have been revised to Aug. 20–21, a Monday and Tuesday, organizers of the event said last week.
Previously, premarket was scheduled to start Aug. 22. Brian Casey, president of the High Point Market Authority and spokesman for the group of manufacturers working to reinvent and improve premarket, said the new dates no longer will conflict with the Tupelo Furniture Market, set for Aug. 22–25.
In addition, moving the event helps ensures greater hotel room availability in the High Point area, Casey said.
Premarket usually takes place about a month before each High Point Market, which this fall opens on Oct. 1. The informal event gives key retailers a chance to preview product, comment on design changes and make early distribution commitments.
