New York — Grid2 has hired Jennifer Magee as senior associate responsible for developing a furniture store-specific division for the design firm.
Magee, who has been an independent design consultant, will lead all furniture client projects, including concept, exploration, planning, design and presentations. She reports to Grid2 founder and President Martin Roberts.
Citing a tough retail climate, Roberts said, "This is exactly the right time for smart companies to focus on defining or redefining their brand presence. The growing demand for intelligent design services from companies like Grid2 is indicative of that."
Some of Grid2's most recent industry projects included a new store concept for Norwalk Furniture, brand identity for Aspenhome and a Las Vegas Market showroom from Spring Air.
As a consultant, Magee has worked for architecture firms in New York and Dallas. She also has taught in the Department of Interior Design at Pratt Institute and at the College of Architecture and Design at the University of Tennessee.
