Linwood, Pa. — John Johnson Jr. has returned as CEO at Foamex International, the leading industry foam supplier.
He previously served as CEO from 1999 to 2001, and replaces Ray Mabus, who resigned as chairman and CEO in order to return to his home in Mississippi. Mabus had been a Foamex executive since 2000, and was CEO during the company's recent bankruptcy reorganization.
Foamex emerged from Chapter 11 protection earlier this year.
"We recognize that commuting from Mississippi imposed substantial sacrifices on Ray and his family, and understand his desire to return home now that Foamex has emerged successfully from Chapter 11," said Eugene Davis, who recently became non-executive chairman of the Foamex board.
