Focuses on environmentally friendly furniture

HIGH POINT -- Furniture|Today is publishing its first-ever digital supplement this week on the fast-developing topic of environmentally friendly furniture.

Called Green, the 44-page digital edition is available by clicking here, where the issue can be easily accessed and read.
"Since this is a digital-only product, no trees are involved in publishing this issue," said Ray Allegrezza, editor in chief. "Readers will like the easy-to-read format, which will enable them to click through from page to page on their computer in much the same way they’d hold an issue of Furniture|Today in their hands."
The special edition includes hot links to all product sources mentioned in the various stories, Allegrezza added, so that retailers can easily learn more about and contact manufacturers and importers.

I am pleased to see that our industry is finally getting on the right track environmentally. I think if consumers and retailers could see how and where their products were made we would have a difficult time sleeping, let alone buying.The side benefit could be that the insane price/quality/replenishment cycle nightmare could be broken. Selling more product to more people for less money, with higher expense and lower quality, seems to assure our industry an even lower stature as a priority consumer durable.

I am thrilled with "GREEN". As an avid recycler, Prius owner and Gore
follower I am always in search of ways to be "greener". Just knowing that
the furniture industry is getting on board and providing sustainable
solutions is very comforting. I am impressed with Furniture Today and it''''''''s
eco-friendly views.
