F/T launches eco-friendly, online Green supplement

Focuses on environmentally friendly furniture

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, May 17, 2007

HIGH POINT -- Furniture|Today is publishing its first-ever digital supplement this week on the fast-developing topic of environmentally friendly furniture.

Click here to view Green, Furniture|Today's new digital supplement.

Called Green, the 44-page digital edition is available by clicking here, where the issue can be easily accessed and read.

"Since this is a digital-only product, no trees are involved in publishing this issue," said Ray Allegrezza, editor in chief. "Readers will like the easy-to-read format, which will enable them to click through from page to page on their computer in much the same way they’d hold an issue of Furniture|Today in their hands."

The special edition includes hot links to all product sources mentioned in the various stories, Allegrezza added, so that retailers can easily learn more about and contact manufacturers and importers.

The debut issue of Green contains a wealth of information about what manufacturers and retailers are doing to make their businesses — and products — more green. Included are a profile of Top 100 retailer Room & Board, a pioneer in the area of sustainable furniture and practices, and an interview with green design guru and lifestyle expert Danny Seo.

In addition, Green features news updates on dozens of environmentally savvy companies that are reducing waste, saving energy and making their products safer for consumers. A Green Scene product portfolio highlights the latest eco-friendly furniture, rugs and bedding.

"The momentum to ‘go green’ is really growing," said Allegrezza. "And our new Green supplement provides a must-read resource for anybody seeking to understand what’s happening in this fast-changing, increasingly important arena."
