Cookeville, Tenn. — Fixtur-World, a manufacturer, distributor and installer of food service furniture and fixtures, has completed its purchase of upholstery maker Livingston Furniture, which will continue to sell under its own name.
Livingston, which had a 40,000-square-foot factory about 20 miles from Cookeville in central Tennessee, moved production May 1 into its new parent's facilities in Cookeville and Baxter, Tenn., said Bill Fletcher, now manager of Fixtur-World's upholstery division.
Fletcher sold the company, which he purchased in 1999 from its original owners.
Its dealer base consists of retailers mainly east of Oklahoma and Texas, he said, adding most of Livingston's 75 factory workers have moved to Fixtur-World's facilities.
Livingston, founded in 1966, exhibits at the Tupelo Furniture Market.
