Magi Seal launches new SleepTrust division

London, Ontario — Magi Seal has launched a new division, SleepTrust Guarantee, to offer bedding retailers a comprehensive service plan that could make traditional 10-year mattress warranties a thing of the past, company officials say.
The SleepTrust Guarantee, which retailers sell to consumers, enhances a standard manufacturer's mattress warranty, provides 10-year, unlimited service for accidental stains and odors, offers a one-year comfort exchange, and provides a mattress protector.
The plan is an "all-in-one" customer care solution, and adds a new source of revenue for bedding retailers, the company said.
The new program was unveiled at Furniture/Today's Bedding Conference, where Magi Seal officials outlined details of the program with conference attendees in face-to-face meetings and via a computer flash drive embedded in what looked like a large aspirin capsule.
"For fast and effective relief of headaches, major pain and discomfort due to customer service difficulties, warranty issues and sleep comfort exchanges," said the box holding the flash drive. "Especially effective for lengthy manufacturer warranties."
The box added that side effects may include "delighted customers, enthusiastic sales associates and repeat business."
Magi Seal officials said they spent months researching warranty-related issues, working with retailers and manufacturers to create their new program.
"Over the past year," said Magi Seal President Brad Geddes, "we have listened as manufacturers and retailers throughout the bedding industry discussed several issues surrounding lengthy manufacturer warranties. Based on our 27 years of customer service experience in both the bedding and home furnishings industry, we knew there had to be a better approach to meeting these challenges.
"After consulting with industry leaders and consumers, we developed the SleepTrust Guarantee, which gives consumers a better way to buy a mattress," he said.
The program helps retailers increase revenues and sales volume while creating a value-added opportunity with every bedding sale, Geddes said. "This valuable solution gives consumers complete peace of mind and total confidence in their mattress purchase decision," he said. "Similarly, dealers are able to reduce service headaches while lowering costs related to mattress returns."
Magi Seal's customer-care organization administers service requests regarding manufacturing defects, accidental stains, damage or comfort exchange issues when consumers purchase their new bed with the SleepTrust Guarantee.
The guarantee also provides retailers with merchandising support, sales associate training and Internet-based technologies for administering customer service requests.
