Newark, N.J. — Northeastern retail bedding powerhouse Sleepy's reportedly will make an offer to buy Rockaway Bedding.
At attorney for Sleepy's said in a bankruptcy court hearing here last week that Sleepy's wants to make an offer for Rockaway, and that it would be between $15 million and $20 million, The Star-Ledger of Newark reported.
The story said that Rockaway's attorney told the court his company would review any offers, and said Sleepy's is not alone in its interest in Rockaway. The Randolph, N.J.-based sleep shop chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month and said it wants to close or sell all but about 50 of its roughly 180 stores.
