Price leaves JCPenney post

Plano, Texas — Bob Price, vice president, divisional merchandise manager for furniture and bedding at JCPenney, has elected to take early retirement. His resignation was effective May 7.
Price was a 32-year veteran of the company at the store level and in the home office. He had headed the furniture division since April 1998.
Jeff Allison, executive vice president, general merchandise manager, home and custom decorating, said that Rich Jones, vice president of merchandise execution, will assume responsibility for running the furniture business until a successor is named.
Jim Kenney, vice president, director of corporate strategic planning, will assist Allison and Jones in the development and implementation of furniture plans and strategies.
