Dalian, China — The 12th China International Export Furniture show will take place here June 12–15.
It will be held jointly with the 12th China International Woodworking Machinery Exhibition and the 12th China International Furniture Components & Raw Materials Exhibition.
Combined, some 400 exhibitors will show in about 600,000 square feet at the Dalian World Expo Plaza and the Dalian Star-Sea Convention & Exhibition Center.
A brochure describing the event said the furniture show features a mix of case goods, upholstery, home office, kitchen and bath, and outdoor furniture. It added the 2006 shows drew a combined 78,000 visitors from around the world.
During this year's event, the city of Dalian will receive the honorary status of China Solid Wood Furniture Base from the China National Light Industrial Council and the China National Furniture Assn., recognizing the city and surrounding area's stature as a manufacturer of wood furniture.
Dalian, northeast of Beijing, has about 1,500 furniture manufacturers and produces a significant share of the country's wood furniture.
In conjunction with the show, Furniture/Today and the Dalian Furniture Assn. are sponsoring a June 11-15 trade mission. Furniture/Today and the DFA have invited retailers and suppliers to visit the show and a number of area factories.
