Kessler to reopen
Refocusing on profitable segments
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, May 17, 2007
HIGH POINT — About a month after they announced plans to cease operations, officials with occasional, metal bed and case goods resource Kessler Inds. say the company will reopen.
More information will be available soon on the company’s business model going forward, said Jon Lamb, former sales and marketing coordinator for the company.
“We’re still putting the final touches on what it will be,” he said.
Lamb said Kessler is intent on reconfiguring itself in a way that focuses on profitable parts of the company. In March, the 47-year-old El Paso, Texas-based company announced plans to close.
The outdoor segment, which Kessler entered three years ago, had been the more successful of the company’s divisions. But outdoor sales couldn’t counter declines in the indoor division, Lamb said in March.
