Teppermans, Johan's offering to help Furniture Direct customers

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, May 21, 2007

Two local furniture retailers have offered to help customers of Furniture Direct, who lost their purchases when the local chain declared bankruptcy.

Tepperman's Furniture and Johan's Countrywide, both Ashley retailers, said that for a limited time they would pay lost deposits of up to 25% of the invoice value and deliver the goods.

Tepperman's is a four-store chain based in Windsor, Ontario, and Johan's Countrywide is in Strathroy, Ontario. Executives of both retailers said they were stepping in for the benefit of the communities that have supported their businesses over the years.
