HIGH POINT — Magnussen Home Furnishings has promoted 19-year company veteran Bruce Ballantyne to chief financial officer.
He will report to Richard Magnussen, president and CEO of the furniture importer. Ballantyne will oversee corporate assets and help drive growth, a released statement said.
Ballantyne joined Magnussen Home in 1988 as vice president, finance and administration. He helped implement the company’s first corporate computer system and Magnussen’s expansion into U.S. markets. He also developed the company’s human resources department and created a company profit sharing plan.
Ballantyne also was also involved in the development of the company’s sales and operations planning system, its business intelligence reporting system, and its Balanced Scorecard strategic planning program.
“Bruce has a broad understanding of the furniture business and a great analytical mind,” Magnussen said.
Before joining the company, Ballantyne was the controller at Roxton Furniture Ltd.
