Luxe customers spending big at Neiman Marcus

Dallas - The ultra-wealthy have been snapping up some of the priciest items from Neiman Marcus's annual Christmas book.
"Luxury at the highest levels is still on the list of many around the world," said Karen Katz, president and ceo of the Neiman Marcus Group.
Speaking during this morning's quarterly conference call, Katz said the high-end retailer has already solid out all 10 of the Neiman Marcus 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante sports cars it had on offer. Price per car: $345,000.
Also gone are 75 Jeff Koons limited-edition Dom Pérignon's Balloon Venus sculptures at $20,000 a pop.
In addition, Neiman's has sold two $30,000 overnight stays at the historic Philip Johnson glass house in New Canaan, Conn.
"The number of calls inquiring about our legendary fantasy gift has well exceeded our expectations," said Katz. "Here is proof positive that luxury is strong."
