LENOIR, N.C. — Full-line importer and manufacturer Bernhardt Furniture has named Erica Wingo senior director of merchandising, residential case goods division.
Wingo will be responsible for creating new products, working with key retailers and directing case good product development processes.
She reports to William Collett, executive vice president and general manager of residential case goods.
"Beautiful, innovative product is the lifeblood of our company, and Erica has quickly become one of the best creative merchants in our industry. We are very excited that she has decided to join us here at Bernhardt," Collett said in a press release.
Previously, Wingo spent six years in merchandising and product development roles at Hooker Furniture, most recently as merchandising director.
Wingo co-won two ASFD Pinnacle Awards for product design at Hooker. She was integral in developing Hooker's Melange collection, which grew from about 40-pieces of accent furniture in 2010 to about 170 pieces recently, including bedroom and dining.
She was also responsible for helping Hooker bring to market a number of successful case goods and accent furniture collections.
Wingo has extensive experience traveling in Asia and working with retailers, a Bernhardt press release said.
