Ashley Furniture to return to Singapore trade show in March
Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, December 14, 2012
The company last showed in Singapore around 2004 and will return to the March 9-12 show with a 5,000-square-foot space in Hall 6.
Chuck Spang, president of international sales and operations for Ashley, said that in addition to High Point and Las Vegas, the company has shown at a number of international shows over the years including Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shanghai, China, as well as Cologne, Germany, and Birmingham, England.
He said it chose to show again in Singapore based on the strong preference among customers for the IFFS show, particularly in the ASEAN region. ASEAN countries include Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, Burma, Brunei, Laos and Cambodia.
"IFFS also stood out for being a more innovative show where visitors can expect to see new product ideas and designs. That's briefly why IFFS is the only ASEAN show we are investing in for 2013.... We are confident that it will be part of our long-term strategy," Spang said.
He said the booth will showcase products from throughout the Ashley line, including bedroom, dining room, living room and motion upholstery.
"Fifty percent of our products are new introductions each year, so a majority of what will be displayed at IFFS will be brand new, featuring fresh fashion trends and colors," he said.
Last year's IFFS show drew 23,552 trade visitors including 118 overseas buying delegations. It showcased product from 512 exhibitors from 26 countries.
Other well-known companies that will be showing at the March show include Eurosa Furniture, Halo, Kenas Home, D-Bodhi.
The show will be held in conjunction with the Décor Show 2013, which focuses bedding, linens, rugs, accessories, handicrafts, mirrors, paintings and picture frames; and the Hospitality Show, which showcases hospitality furniture. More information on the event is available online at www.iffs.com.sg.
