Top 15 Bedding Producers -- Sealy, Simmons, Serta lead pack
Select Comfort tops Spring Air for 5th place

High Point — HIGH POINT -- Bedding's Elite Three — Sealy, Simmons and Serta — remain the same in Furniture/Today's latest bedding market share rankings, but a growing specialty sleep player has cracked the Top Five.
Overall, it was a challenging year for many bedding producers, with only three of the Top 15 posting double-digit sales increases last year, compared to seven that managed that feat a year earlier. And five of the Top 15 posted sales declines last year, compared to two a year earlier.
The biggest growth story on the list last year was written by two specialty sleep players — Tempur-Pedic and Select Comfort — that continue to drive that category with strong marketing programs.
Those are some of the highlights of the newspaper's assessment of producers' 2006 bedding shipments. Most of the numbers in the rankings are estimates by Furniture/Today.
