Webb joins, Delgatti leaves Broyhill

Lenoir, N.C. — Broyhill Furniture Inds. has named Don Webb to the newly created position of executive vice president of sales and merchandising.
Meanwhile, Broyhill veteran Mike Delgatti has decided to leave as executive vice president of upholstery and occasional merchandising, company officials said. They did not say if the position would be filled.
Webb most recently was at Magnussen Home Furnishings, where he had been named vice president of sales for western North America in May. He reports to Broyhill President Jeff Cook, who was president and CEO of Magnussen Home before joining Broyhill in March.
Webb will be responsible for unifying Broyhill's sales and merchandising efforts. He also will create a Center of Excellence that will develop products that respond to the needs of consumers and to market trends.
"This trend-setting Center will spark a much-needed change that our industry has lacked for a long time. We will focus on developing product that the consumer wants to buy as opposed to developing product that we want to sell," Cook said.
Before joining Magnussen, Webb was vice president of sales for Ashley's Millennium division and served on the Ashley Home Store development team.
Earlier, he was director of business development for Bush Inds. and held a variety of sales, merchandising and buying positions with Lea Inds., Master Design, Breuners and Levitz.
"At Broyhill, we are on a mission to return this once mighty brand to a position of dominance," Cook said. "Broyhill was founded on two timeless principles: the highest degree of ethics and character. It really is gratifying that one of the best talents in the industry wants to join us in our mission."
Delgatti left the company once before and was rehired for Broyhill's upholstery division in June 2005 by then-CEO Harvey Dondero. Delgatti had spent 18 years at Broyhill in a number of posts before leaving the company in 2003 to become president of mid-priced upholstery resource Clayton Marcus.
He said last week he is weighing his options.
"Mike has contributed much to the Broyhill organization during his tenure. We wish him every success in his future endeavors," said Cook.
