Diamond named VP at Office Depot
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, July 8, 2007
Delray Beach, Fla. — Office Depot has hired merchandising veteran Richard Diamond as vice president of furniture, a new position.
He will report to Scott Koerner, senior vice president of merchandising.
Previously, Barbara Pizzella, who joined the company about a year ago, handled merchandising for furniture and supplies. Pizzella will still handle supplies, which includes anything but technology products, but the company's continued focus on office furniture warranted breaking the category out, a spokeswoman said.
Diamond will be responsible for the category, which includes the Christopher Lowell Furniture Collection, Chateau Provence line and Office Depot Brand furniture, among other items.
Diamond has more than 20 years of merchandising experience, most recently as chief operating officer for gift and décor resource Harvey Lewis Designs, located in Hong Kong. He also held senior positions at H2O Furnishings, OfficeMax and Burdines stores.
