Harrington to direct marketing services for H.P.

High Point — Former Showplace operations manager Audra Harrington has been named director of marketing services for the High Point Market Authority, a new position for the market organizer.
"Audra brings us a wealth of knowledge about the inner workings of the market, and her energy and experience will be a great asset to our team," said Brian Casey, president and CEO of the Market Authority.
Harrington is a High Point native who has worked in the industry for over a decade. At Showplace, she worked in building operations, leasing and development of marketing and advertising materials, and was a driving force behind production of the "Stars under the Stars" market event series.
Before joining the market building, she was assistant showroom manager for Wildwood Lamps in High Point.
Casey said Harrington will act as a bridge between marketing and operations for the Market Authority. Her responsibilities will range from public relations support and coordination of sponsorship programs and special events to Market Scouts training and database management.
"This is just another means of adding the necessary services to support the needs of our customers," Casey said. "We are continually working to expand our programs, and these added resources will help us jump-start many of the creative ideas we have to improve the market for all concerned."
The fall High Point Market will take place Oct.1–7.
