Designer Miller helps debut line at Cantoni

Houston — Upscale contemporary retailer Cantoni hosted a launch party at its store here June 21 for the new Nicole Miller collection from Excelsior Designs.
The collection, called Ritz, consists of 23 case goods pieces and 12 upholstered pieces. Miller, best known as an apparel designer, attended the invitation-only event, which drew nearly 400 people.
Models strolled through the store in Miller's dresses, while dozens of attendees came in clothing from her apparel line. Valets parked cars and martini bars served food and her favorite drinks.
Door prizes included fashion accessories from her line, a spa package and a Bryant Park console table from her first furniture collection for Excelsior.
Miller, whose designs have been worn by such celebrities as Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry and Daryl Hannah, will attend another furniture launch at a Carls store in October.
