Las Vegas — More than 120 international companies from nearly 20 foreign countries will be featured at the Sands Expo during this month's Las Vegas Market.
They make up a sizable percentage of the 700 temporary exhibitors at the Sands, which opens Tuesday, July 31.
"The temporary exhibition at the Sands is a great place to check out new styles and a broad range of cultural influences in the world of home furnishings," said Tim Branscome, director of international business development for the World Market Center.
"The diversity of exhibitors has been expanding since this market launched, and the show is growing in popularity, especially among Latin American companies and others abroad. We are pleased to be able to infuse meaningful international content and community into our show for the benefit of buyers looking for something new," Branscome said.
Most of the international companies showing in Las Vegas are at the Sands Expo, with the exception of a selection of Brazilian companies, which are showing both in the temporary Pavilions and in permanent showrooms in the World Market Center.
In the Sands, a group of companies from the Guanajuato region of Mexico are represented at the COFOCE stand, showing lighting, wood furniture, iron furniture and decorative accessories.
COFOCE has almost doubled the space it took at the winter market.
Also from Mexico is the Canaco stand run by the Chamber of Commerce from Tlaquepaque, whose artisans produce a variety of products, from glass and ironwork to ceramics and leather.
Italian design is the focus for a host of brands showing in the Design & Living area in the Sands, including Eleganza, Ratan Wood, Adria, Sentesi, BBB emmebonacina and Sagsa.
Japan's exhibit, Fuchu Furniture Brands, brings three manufacturers based in Fuchu City to the United States for the second time after receiving a positive response at the January Las Vegas Market.
They will be exhibiting bedroom, living room and dining products with clean, sleek lines and attention to detail.
To give attendees an authentic taste of their culture, a traditional Japanese tea ceremony will be performed twice at the country's exhibit by Midori Yokoyama, from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 1 and from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 2.
From Vietnam are 11 exhibitors covering an array of products from furniture to decorative accessories.
