Las Vegas — The World Market Center again is planning to roll out the red carpet with food, fun and music for furniture industry sales representatives the day before the opening of the Las Vegas Market.
The WMC's Rep Appreciation Day on Sunday, July 29, will include events running throughout the day in the Building B atrium.
Following breakfast and lunch, the day will culminate with a happy hour and music from the Good Vibrations Band, a Las Vegas-based Beach Boys tribute group. The first Rep Appreciation Day took place in January and won applause from reps, according to market officials.
"Rep Appreciation Day is our way of showing the rep community how much we appreciate them as a driving force in the industry," said Harvey Dondero, CEO of the World Market Center. "We hope that all industry reps find time to stop by, have something to eat and drink and enjoy themselves before the start of market week."
"We are elated the World Market Center is planning a second Rep Appreciation Day before the July market to show their continued support and recognition of the sales representative," said Kathy Parks, executive director of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn.
She said the free food and drink is an added convenience, and the entertainment is a bonus.
"After a long day setting up, it's a treat for them to be able to relax while enjoying music before they head back to their hotels," Parks said. "The event also spurs camaraderie among the attending reps. As an organization, we also use Rep Appreciation Day as an opportunity to highlight the benefits of our group to reps who may not already be members."
The day's events include:
-
Breakfast, 8 to 10 a.m.
-
Lunch, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
-
Happy Hour with the Good Vibrations Band, 4 to 6 p.m.
