LAS VEGAS — Abbyson Corp., known for its hand-made Tibetan rugs, is introducing an upholstered furniture collection here that includes oversized chairs, sofas, loveseats and chaises in a variety of designs and covers, including leather.
The collection is part of the rug source’s ongoing expansion into furniture. Eclectic in nature, Abbyson’s line includes the cosmopolitan Park Avene collection as well as DuPont Espresso, contemporary case goods with an espresso finish.
“There are a lot of changes and a lot of excitement at the Abbyson Corp. these days,” said Alexandra DeCicco, marketing and sales manager. “It seems only natural that we would push the momentum further, and inevitable that our products would reflect that.”
The best example of the new product mix, according to DeCicco, is the Modern Sophistication living room series, featuring Abbyson’s new black-and-white patterned design. Targeted retail is around $2,000 for a sofa, $1,500 for a chaise and $900 for a coffee table. The group of seven pieces comes with easy-to-match decorative pillows and accessories.
In addition, the company has hired Michelle King as Las Vegas showroom manager. King is a graduate of the Las Vegas International Academy of Design & Technology and previously was involved in real estate sales for the MGM Group.
“We are very excited to have amazing talent like Michelle King come on board with Abbyson,” said DeCicco. “I feel very confident having her as part of our Las Vegas showroom and am excited for her to be part of the upcoming market.
“She fits right in with the direction our company is heading.”
Abbyson’s showroom is on the World Market Center’s ground floor, space A-133. Next year, the company will move to a larger space in Building C.
