Howard Miller pays 1st $10K in retail sales incentive program

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, July 30, 2007

Lori Weissberg, a sales associate at retailer Jordan's Furniture in Reading, Mass., is the first quarterly winner of $10,000 in case goods manufacturer Howard Miller's Sell to Win incentive program, which debuted in March.

Sell to Win gives retail sales associates the chance to instantly win cash prizes for each Howard Miller floor clock they sell. Another three quarterly prizes of $10,000 will be awarded, and one associate will win the grand prize, a choice of $50,000 cash or a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette convertible.

"I was floored when I found out," said Weissberg. "I work hard, and to get such a great prize for doing my job well is such a gift."

Her store manager, Brian Dalton, said, "We couldn't be happier for her. Lori is the best in the business; she really knows how to take care of the customer."

Howard Miller also has awarded hundreds of prizes of $25, $100 and $1,000 to associates who have sold floor clocks.

"This is a groundbreaking way to approach incentive programs and target retail sales associates in the furniture industry," said Mark Siciliano, Howard Miller's director of marketing. "We congratulate Lori Weissberg as well as the other winners to date."

The Sell to Win program continues through February.
